Our Chamber
of Trade has
a long history,
being founded
in March 1953
at the suggestion
of Rotary
members to
set up a Wimborne
branch. It
is a voluntary
organisation
run and supported
by committed
local residents
and traders
who aim to
provide a
friendly and
effective
service to
our members
and visitors.
We have seen
our members
through good
times and
bad and our
organisation
is proud to
serve Wimborne
Minster and
to help promote
and advertise
the town and
its local
businesses.
If you are
already a
member we
are always
here to help
you and hear
your views
and if you
have not joined
us yet we
hope that
you will consider
what we can
offer you
and your business.
The Chamber
of Trade is
a voice for
you. Our committee
members strive
to represent
your views
and provide
practical
solutions
to issues
raised by
our members.
We also explore
any ideas
of promotion
of our town
with a view
to encouraging
both regular
visitors and
new customers.
It is therefore
very important
that we hear
from you so
that we can
be certain
we are representing
your needs
and wishes.
One of the
most important
events in
our calendar
is our A.G.M.
when we invite
all our members
to attend
an open meeting.
We realise
that you are
all busy people
but we feel
that this
meeting is
a great way
to gather
together and
become an
effective
organisation
- it is also
a good opportunity
to put names
to faces!
Our AGM's are usually in May in the Town Hall West Borough and we very
much look
forward to
seeing you
all there.

The Chamber
of Trade is

organisation
that looks
for ways to
help your
business and
promote our
beautiful
town. By joining
us you will
have the opportunity

town guide
- 35,000 copies
are printed
every year
and distributed
FREE through
the town,
county and
taken to many
destinations
across the
UK when we
are on holiday!
We now have
an official

- where the
town and it's
businesses
are promoted
and where
you will be
able to link
to your own
website so
your customers
can access
your services
24 hours a
day. We keep
you up-to-date
with all the
latest information
through our
monthly newsletter
'The Business'
so that you
can make sure
we are representing
you and your
concerns in
the best way
we can. We
act on your
behalf when
important
issues are
raised in
the town and
we are always
interested
to hear new
ideas from
our members.
Of course
Christmas
is an important
time of year
for many of
us and so
we make sure
we do everything
we can to
make Wimborne
an inviting
place to shop.
We encourage
members to
put up Christmas
trees outside
their premises,
we raise funds
for our Christmas
lights and
organise their
display and
removal. The
fairground
organs are
invited to
the square
to cheer our
customers,
a window dressing
competition
is encouraged,
we organise
refreshments
for all the
participants
in the Christmas
parade and
we arrange
the FREE shows
for the children
to attend
whilst their
parents shop.
This is all
backed up
by the 7 day
FREE car parking
scheme to
encourage
people to
come and see
what Wimborne
has to offer.
We are sure
you will agree
